Autumn Photography in Milan: Capturing the Beauty of Arco della Pace with the Fuji X100VI
The Beauty of Autumn Photography at Arco della Pace, Milan
There’s something truly magical about autumn in Milan. The days grow shorter, the light becomes softer, and the trees begin to paint the city with golden and amber tones. It’s during this time of year that I decided to spend a Saturday afternoon at one of the city’s most iconic landmarks: the Arco della Pace.
It wasn’t a meticulously planned session — rather, one of those spontaneous outings that often turn into the most rewarding ones. With my Fuji X100VI hanging from my neck, I wandered around the arch, letting curiosity and the season’s atmosphere guide my steps.
Searching for New Perspectives
The Arco della Pace is already a striking and photogenic subject, but what I was looking for was something different — a way to let autumn speak through my images.
I followed the trails of fallen leaves, the golden reflections on the marble, and the contrast between the white stone and the deep red trees of Parco Sempione. Each step revealed a new composition, a new dialogue between history and nature.
The late afternoon light, warm and golden, did the rest — wrapping everything in a calm, poetic glow. In moments like these, you realize that great photography doesn’t always require exotic destinations — it simply requires you to truly see.
The Fuji X100VI and the Joy of Simplicity
As always, my X100VI proved to be the perfect companion. Lightweight, discreet, and with color rendering that feels almost painterly in autumn light. The combination of its fixed lens and ability to capture subtle nuances allowed me to focus on what truly matters: composition, light, and emotion.
Each frame became a small fragment of that Milanese afternoon — a reminder that you don’t have to go far to find new worlds to explore.
You Don’t Need to Travel Far to Find Beauty
We often think that to create beautiful images we need faraway places or breathtaking views. But the truth is, beauty is everywhere, if we take the time to look for it. All it takes is a free afternoon, a camera, and the curiosity to see familiar places with new eyes.
The Arco della Pace, with its bronze horses and neoclassical majesty, remains one of Milan’s most symbolic landmarks. Yet in autumn, surrounded by the warm colors of the season and bathed in soft golden light, it becomes something more: a perfect setting to rediscover the joy of photography, calm, and quiet observation.
